On Saturday, 9 April, several local, female motorcycle enthusiasts joined more than 1000 other riders at Dubbo in smashing two world records - most women on motorcycles in one area and the most women on motorcycles at a female bike meet.
The previous record was held by a group of 661 British women, set in 2015.
The Dubbo event attracted women from every state and corner of the country, including Western Australia, far- north Queensland and even Tasmania, with ages ranging from 16 to 74.
The women motorcyclists completed a 10-kilometre ride throughout Dubbo, with hundreds of spectators on hand to cheer on the world record attempt.
Celebrations continued into the night, with participants enjoying a band and after party.
“It was just an amazing milestone for Aussie female riders and an event I’ll never forget,” said Coonabarabran motorcyclist, Melanie Stewart.
“It was truly an amazing day.”
